The Cannabis Museum’s collections include more than 10,000 objects drawn from a broad range of cultures, disciplines, and mediums related to the cannabis culture throughout various historic and geographic locations. The Museum possesses an unparalleled and significant collection of Apothecary Glass Vessels. This extensive collection includes more than 1500 glassworks and containers that reflect the history and development of glass manufacturing side-by-side with the medical and pharmaceutical practices between the 1830s throughout the prohibition era of 1937 until our current day. The museum also includes a unique collection of medical records and journals, prescriptions, samples, pharmacopeias, and other related relics. Plus, the collections include a wide range of artworks including prints, photographs, botanical drawings, illustrations, international historic postcards, stamps, paintings, posters, textiles, sculptures, pipes, and a notable collection of African art. Additionally, the museum hosts a distinctive collection of contemporary and historic hemp production and processing tools.

The Cannabis Museum library hosts more than 5000 rare and common books, magazines, periodicals, journals, booklets, comics, pulp fiction, research papers, and medical records. Many of these are original editions and limited publications that might not exist anywhere in the world.

In 2021, the Cannabis Museum acquired the full collections of the Herb Museum in Vancouver and established them under the Herb Museum. This collection has more than 1000 new items that range from specimens, objects, artworks, drawings, and others.

Faculty, University classes, students, and scholars interested in accessing or researching the Museum’s collections should contact Cannabis Museum staff at least two weeks in advance prior to their visit. To schedule a visit please fill contact our staff at info@cannabismuseum.com
