Cannabis Americana tells the intertwined American history of two strains of Cannabis. Cannabis sativa, the hemp plant, originally from Eastern China, its seeds were passed around the world as a common fiber plant.

Unravel the events that lead to the decline in hemp. America was built on a foundation of hemp, grown by the earliest explorers and settlers. Hemp was used for ropes, twine, nets, canvas for sails, tents, and wagon covers.

Brother Hill

Brother Hill is a folk musician, singer, songwriter, and humanitarian volunteer from Dayton, Ohio. Hill performs solo as Brother Hill and as front man in Athens-based folk-quintet “Hill Spirits”.

The Cannabis Museum is an Ohio 501(c)(3) educational and research nonprofit organization, dedicated to revealing the history of mainstream cannabis use in the United States and around the world. It collects, preserves, and shares the history of cannabis use, culture, prohibition, and politics.
