Grow Yer Own Stone, by Dr. Alexander Sumach. River City Stoneworks, 1974.
The "New Larger" 1974 edition of this beautifully-calligraphed and -illustrated guide to cannabis cultivation!
Like the United States during the same era, Seventies Canada was a land where there was extensive marijuana use, but high legal penalties for possession of even small amounts of the herb. Author Sumach suggests here that Canadians legally produce it by applying for a license to cultivate Cannabis sativa from the Canadian Federal government, and includes an application form in the book centerfold. The book itself is a hand-lettered, illustrated guide to growing and consuming the plant -- a true labor of love.
This is a nearly-unused copy of this lost classic. Beautifully produced, with information that's still applicable in this era of legalized cannabis, Grow Yer Own Stone is a must-own for collectors of marijuana literature, or Canadian counterculture memorabilia!
Format: 5.5 x 8.25" softcover, saddle-stapled, made in Canada, 96pp, hand-lettered text, illustrated.
